Pain Management

What is the best method to control pain? Many people are hindered and some completely incapacitated by pain. Chronic pain is becoming more and more common and for many it controls their life.

We are not the experts in pain control and management, you should consult your doctor for proper instructions. However we have discovered that the use of either heat therapy and in some instances TENS units can greatly reduce the felt pain individuals suffer.

There are two types of heat packs we provide they are categorized as “dry” heat and “moist” heat. Most therapist will agree that the moist heat is a better therapy due to the relief and the deeper penetration it provides.

TLC has Medi-beads and Thera-beads heat packs ins different sizes for different applications. These heat packs are placed in a microwave and heated to a desired level, then placed directly on the affected to provide lasting relief.

These come in large for the entire back, standard for shoulders, lower or upper back and stomach. (Many females have commented that these assist with their cramps.) The cervical which is for the neck and the neck wrap which is for the upper shoulders and can also be used for the knees. This is great for aching knees and for stress relief.

The Heat Therapy is a great alternative and simple solution for temporary pain relief. Whether it is sore muscles, of deep pain, this heat therapy is a good place to start your relief.

In addition to this is the use of a TENS unit. This unit supplies small electrical impulses into the directed area with electrodes and allows the patient to receive instant pain relief. This is used mostly for nerve pain and pulled or torn muscles.
